Sputnik Depth of Field and %MAOFD Calculators These files were apparently too large to upload to the Files section of this forum, so I uploaded this text file instead - to provide links to the files at my server: http://home.globalcrossing.net/~zilch0/images/SputnikDoF&MAOFDCalculator-5-lpmm.gif http://home.globalcrossing.net/~zilch0/images/SputnikDoF&MAOFDCalculator-8-lpmm.gif After opening one of these files in your web browswer, do a right-click and select "Save Picture As..." to save the file to your hard drive. Then open the file with an image editor and print it per the instructions found within. The 8 lp/mm calculator is much more agressive than the 5 lp/mm. It will produce smaller Circles of Confusion at the expense of increased working distances to the nearest subject. Try testing with both of them. If you can not appreciate any improvement at 8 lp/mm (with your camera and viewer), then use the 5 lp/mm calculator. Mike Davis
